This year for Thanksgiving we had us. Our family. For the first time in over a decade we had just our immediate family for dinner, and for most of us it was the first time we had ever had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house. So what better way to keep it close to home than to shoot a thousand clay pigeons in the front yard? Some people play football, some run a 5k, nope not us.
The best part? A new champion of Annie Oakley reigns. Hunter and TJ (Travis) beat Brian fair and square. I'm sure you can imagine the smack talk that went on afterwards. We are not a humble or kind family.
Between layering marshmallows on the yams and basting the bird, I snuck out to take a few photos. Shocking.
Also, there was a strange no shave contest going on with all the boys. Which I'm proud that TJ (Travis) did not participate. My husband did participate, but you couldn't see it. Brian had a solid stache, but no beard. Hunter's was... gross, and Trace, so distinguished with the salt and pepper look going on.
The view. I mean seriously.
Stay tuned for the best part of Thanksgiving. The food. The food that we slaved over while those boys (and Micall) shot things. It was amazing. And so much fun to cook.
love love
