Better Mother

These last two weeks have been some of the craziest work weeks of my life. After the first week I was expecting to go back to my daily job. Only to find out that I was going to be working another 60 hours this week. Last week I was pretty prepared for Stella. I knew where she was going, who she was going with and which one of us could drop her off. This week I might have lost my mind. I took her to the new daycare and I forgot to tell her how many naps a day Stella takes. I forgot to leave the carseat with Trevor so when he picked her up she would be legal. Trev took her and picked her up from the sitter almost everyday this week. When I got home she would be eating dinner with a fresh diaper on and her hair pulled back. The laundry was at least clean, the bed was made, the trash had been taken out and the dishes had been done. He had sorted the mail, and made a grocery list. I think its fair to say that Trevor is a better mother than I am. I got to work from home today and when Trevor left Stella completely melted down. Running down the street as I chased her, she was sobbing "Daddy Home, Daddy Home, HOME HOME HOME HOME" When I finally caught up to her she told me "No Mom, No Mom" All she wanted was daddy. He is way more fun than I am. I am choosing not to have my feelings hurt that Stella clearly wants him more than me. Instead I am so grateful that I have a husband who is such an amazing father to her. Her clothes even matched, and her hair was brushed and pulled out of her face. Thats pretty amazing. Not only was Stella well taken care of, so was the house and the yard. He mowed the lawn, edged the flower beds and weeded. Thank you Trevor for being such a great man.
