She has fingernails

Today I had to go to the doctor for an ultrasound, just a little check up to make sure everything was as it should be. It indeed was all normal, our little girl was measuring beautifully. She was 15.3 inches long and an estimated weight of 3 pounds 3 ounces. She is ahead of schedule by 4 days still, which really doesn't matter except that doctor won't have a problem inducing me the end of January instead of going into labor in February. YIPPEE!
It was so cool to see her at this stage, she looked like a little baby. The most important thing we learned from today's ultra sound is that baby girl has hair. Lots of hair. The ultrasound tech kept commenting on how much hair she had on her head! Unfortunately we didn't get a good picture of all that hair, but we did get a cute little nose.
I am carrying her really low in comparison to Stella, who spent the entire time breaking my ribs. Baby girl is just resting firmly on my bladder. It is much worse, at least when Stella kicked my ribs I could walk out of the room unscathed. It's much more noticeable when I pee my pants.
She is flipping around a ton, people can see my belly bouncing from across the room. I am trying to savor these moments, it is the only part of pregnancy that I miss; the kicks, the shifting and flipping around. Since she is sitting so low and breaking my lower back, I have been told to stop lifting my 30 pound 2 year old. Who didn't really care to be held until I was told I couldn't. Holding Stella isn't what hurts, its picking her up. The bending and lifting results in the fetal position in bed at the end of the day. Sometimes I wonder how I can get any bigger, how my belly can stretch anymore, or how my body can take anymore growth. Oh but it can and surely will. But that's OK, only 8 more weeks!! 8 more weeks, can you believe it??

  2. So Cami was a Stella, cause she was WAY high up on my ribs until the last few weeks. I was totally hoping this one would ride lower, but after I read this, I'm not so sure my weakened bladder will be able to take it! So now I'm like..."crushing rib pain or peeing my pants on a regular basis...?" Hmm...what a dilema.

At least I really don't get to choose, huh? I guess I'll have to take what I can get...
